In the back of my mind, I’ve been looking forward to Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite Holidays, as our family spends time together, watching football games, playing in leaves, hiking the leaf littered trails.
We do not get into the Black Friday madness, so it is a great time to simply get together, enjoy each others company, unwind and just BE.
Our phones aren’t ringing off the hook, e-mails do not need answered. Nothing but wonderful downtime for my husband and I regarding work.
This morning in my office at my house, I was calmly sipping a cup of coffee, glancing over my calendar, when I realized…
THANKSGIVING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
Has 2018 went as quickly for you as it has for me?
I have been told that time goes by faster the older you get, but this year has flown by warp speed!
Do you enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday or does it stress you out?
At my house, we are wanting to do something less traditional regarding the meal.
Our kids love snacks, so we thought we would try and find some simple and easy foods that will be filling, but can either be thawed out or popped in the oven for just a few minutes.
We give our kids more freedoms around the Holidays, such as more tv and playtime, so why not make things easier for Mom and Dad as well?
We browsed the internet and found some interesting things.
We are big soup eaters in our house, especially when the cooler weather arrives.
We were thrilled to find Tomato Grilled Cheese Soup on the MACKENZIE LIMITED site! Perfect for the kiddos! They love Mac N’ Cheese and grilled cheese!
Okay, okay, so what’s Thanksgiving without turkey really? What were we thinking? We found this stuffed turkey roast on Mackenzie Limited as well! Doesn’t it look divine?
And the best part is EASY! It arrives in a roll form as pictured, and needs warmed up and sliced.
ASSORTED VEGGIE PURSES
These are just a few ideas we found, we will look some more and finalize over the weekend.
I mentioned Williams Sonoma and Mackenzie Limited because we have ordered from them before, but there are MANY others out there with similar items or items just as unique.
Shop around and do your research for quality and price points.
What are your Thanksgiving plans?
This will be the first year that I won’t be serving food at the shelter. My leg injury is not completely healed yet, but we have participated in food drives and purchased some meals for others.
Next year, the kids will be older, so they will get to go serve food with me and understand there are less fortunate in the world.
With the political environment as it is, I hope we ALL (regardless of views) start getting along better in this world.
We are in this together!
Now, is it too early to watch one of my favorite movies A CHRISTMAS STORY?
Happy Thanksgiving and love to all!
